SNAP Delays in Alaska
Header Image

NCLEJ, the Northern Justice Project and another law firm sued the Alaska Division of Public Assistance (“DPA”) over delays in processing SNAP benefits. You can read more about the lawsuit here.

As part of the lawsuit, we can contact DPA for people with delayed SNAP cases and ask DPA to process the cases more quickly. If you submitted a SNAP application or recertification more than 30 days ago and have not gotten a decision yet, we can contact DPA through the individual referral process.

We are only able to help with delayed SNAP cases. Please contact Alaska Legal Services if:

  1. You have a problem with any benefit other than SNAP.
  2. You submitted your SNAP application less than 30 days ago.
  3. You have a SNAP problem that is not a processing delay, like an overpayment, sanction or something else.
You can find a contact phone number for your local Alaska Legal Services office at this website: https://www.alsc-law.org/contact-us/.
